Textured Porcelain

My name is Guenola Lefeuvre, and I am the artist behind Textured Porcelain. My work explores how texture can evoke feeling—through both touch and sight—much like the experience of moving through nature. I see texture not only as a physical surface, but as a visual language that carries memory, sensation, and emotion.

I work in porcelain, drawn to its balance of strength and unpredictability. Once the clay reaches the right stage, I trim and shape each piece, building surfaces layered with texture. The work is then fired in my 17c-cu ft downraft soda kiln, where shifting conditions bring out deep, earthy tones and subtle variations.

Consistency is never the goal. Each piece develops its own character through this process, making every work entirely one of a kind.

Made in MAINE!

Each piece is made and fired in Yarmouth, Maine, where my surroundings are a constant source of inspiration. My work often travels with me as I explore, and many pieces are photographed in the landscapes that first sparked their creation. The textures, colors, and quiet moments I encounter continue to shape my process and perspective.

About me

I was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago by my French parents, with a strong connection to France woven into my upbringing. Each year, I return to visit family along the coast of Brittany, where I first fell in love with the Atlantic landscape—something that continues to resonate with and mirror my life in Maine.
